As we ring in the New Year, and a whole new decade, I just want to take a moment to remind you that you are valued, and that conquering your life is possible. Here are my 3 tips for resolutions that conquer:
1. Don't face your goal without some knowledge about how that goal is usually met by others. In other words, study those who go before you. Look at what other people have done to accomplish this thing. Try to find a blog or an article written by someone with a similar personality to you, or better yet find a friend or acquaintance, who has actually done the thing you are hoping to do. Think and ask; "what did they do that worked?"
2. Don't just make an end goal. Instead create the systems, the things you will do every day, that will naturally result in the desired effect. Have not just a "why" but a "how". Don't just say, "I want to lose 10 pounds", instead say, "I want to walk at least x miles a day" or "I want to go to the gym so many times per week". This way, you won't fall off the bandwagon the second the 10 pounds are gone. You'll have created a good habit.
3. Make it doable. Make it too easy. You can always make it more challenging as you pick up momentum. It's better to be actually doing it at an easy level, than not doing it at all. Remember that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. Make your goal about forming the new habit first. Then you will be set up for success as you increase the intensity. There's no sense setting a goal that you'll likely give up on. If you know you're going to give up, just skip making resolutions! That kind of goal will only make you feel worse!
I'm not an expert or anything. These are just my thoughts as I ring in new beginnings myself. I want resolutions that last. I also want to share with you the goal of Purple Pineapple Apparel, as I have taken a moment to consider it's purpose and write it out. So here ya go:
Purple Pineapple exists to provide comfortable clothing to women so that they can focus on tackling, and conquering, whatever life throws at them.
If you have any ideas for me, on how I can accomplish this purpose even better, let me know! You may notice me implement some systems of my own as we ring in this new year and think about how to grow. I'm going to be upping my Instagram game, and writing more emails. If you are looking for a certain type, or print, in your comfy clothing and want to share your ideas, make sure you are a part of our Insider's Club on Facebook. That's where I take votes and opinions on what to stock!
